Quarantine. It sucks. I’m constantly hearing, “I just want to be with my friends or do something fun.” Trust me, I get it. We are all in the same boat together. More than a month into this lockdown, I’m sure most of you have gone through bouts of boredom, lack of purpose, depression, etc. You’re not alone. For me, one of the hardest things about all this is that I no longer had an event or a trip to get excited about. For about a week, I felt like I had absolutely no direction and no excitement left in my body. A horrible feeling. How did I fix this? During this time I have found 2 things that have really helped. 1) Appreciate yourself and everything positive in your life. For starters, your alive, you’re in school, you have facetime plenty of brothers and sisters to lean on during these hard times, life could be a lot worse 2) Plan for the future. It might feel like this is going to go on forever but It won’t. Everything will get back to normal sooner rather than later. Now is the perfect time to start thinking about Formals, Recruitment Events, Date Nights, etc. What you don’t want to do is wait. You don’t want to be the guy or girl that has to tell your chapter Formal is canceled because it was never planned and set up. Organizations are certainly going to drop the ball and end up throwing together some last-minute events that turn into dumpster fires. Will that be you?
